A great shower is about what you can't see as much as what you can. Proper waterproofing and prep go in before the first tile goes up. Custom, here, means the shower is built to your space — the size, the tile, and the details — on a waterproofed base instead of a one-size insert.
People ask about wall and floor tile, a recessed niche, a built-in bench, glass, and the shower head. We explain the options, and what each one changes in the price, before you choose. The waterproofing under and behind the tile is what keeps water out of the wall and floor. Grout alone does not.

Still stepping over that tub wall? A walk-in shower has no tub to step over. It is easier to step into and to clean, and it is a common upgrade from a builder-grade tub-shower combo. It may still have a low curb. A curbless shower is a different layout, with no curb at all and the floor sloping to the drain. We explain the difference during the design visit.
Trade the tub you never use for a walk-in shower. A tub-to-shower conversion takes the tub out and builds a shower in its place. The drain and the valve move when they need to, and the waterproofing goes in before any tile. The tub wall you have been stepping over comes out with the tub. What replaces it is a shower sized to that opening, with the plumbing set before the walls close. We explain that sequence, and what it changes in the room, before you decide.
Moving a drain or a valve is plumbing work. Our licensed Colorado master plumber does that work. It is not handed to another trade. The rest of the bathroom remodeling stays with the same team.
The part you don't see is the part that makes the shower last. The usual order, with no clock attached to it, is the valve and supply lines, the drain, the slope to that drain, the pan or waterproofing membrane, and then the tile. Tile goes on last because the waterproofing has to be continuous before it is covered. If we open the wall and find old leak damage, we stop and talk first. That is the No Change Order Guarantee. The same team that fixes leaks, floors, and drywall repairs it, so nothing waits on another trade.
Not ready for a new shower? Many shower problems are a plumbing repair. We find the source first, then tell you plainly whether it is a repair or a rebuild, with an upfront written price before work starts. A homeowner usually calls because the shower drips after it is shut off, the handle spins without stopping the water, or a stain showed up on the ceiling of the room below. Those are different failures, and they do not all mean the tile has to come out.
A shower that drips when it is off usually points to a worn valve cartridge. A leak that shows up on the ceiling below can come from the valve connection, the drain, or a failed shower pan, so the source gets found before anything is torn out. A valve or a drain connection is a plumbing repair. A failed shower pan, or water behind the tile, usually means rebuilding that part of the shower. We say which one it is before work starts.
Bring a photo of the shower, a photo of any stain on the ceiling below, and the street address. If the water is already off, say so. Call or text 970-610-6200 for a leaking shower. Use the design visit form when you already know you want the shower rebuilt.
Ceiling below stained? See ceiling stain under a bathroom and drywall and ceiling repair. Floor soft? See toilet leak floor damage repair for the same kind of subfloor work, and leak and water damage repair when the leak is not only the shower. Small cleanup and drying stay with the repair. Larger restoration goes to a restoration partner.

FAQ
A shower built to fit your bathroom, with tile walls and floor over a waterproofed base, instead of a one-piece insert. You choose the size, tile, glass, and extras like a niche or bench. The waterproofing under the tile is what keeps it from leaking.
Yes. We remove the tub, move the drain and valve if needed, waterproof the space, and build the new shower. Our licensed master plumber handles the plumbing.
A walk-in shower has no tub to step over, but it may still have a low curb. A curbless shower has no curb at all; the floor slopes to the drain so you can walk or roll straight in.
It depends on the size, the tile and glass you choose, and whether the drain or valve has to move. We don't publish a price list. After the design visit, you get an upfront written price before work starts. If the job changes once the old shower is open, we stop and talk first (No Change Order Guarantee).
Not always. A dripping valve or a leaking drain connection is usually a plumbing repair. If the shower pan has failed or water is getting behind the tile, that part of the shower usually needs to be rebuilt. We find the source first and tell you which it is before any work starts.
A plumber first, to find and stop the leak. Then the ceiling gets dried and repaired. Good Life does both: our licensed plumber finds the source, and the same team repairs the shower and replaces the damaged drywall and paint.
